Mitigation of Abiotic and Biotic Stress Using Plant Growth Regulators in Rice

نویسندگان

چکیده

Split plot design experiments were conducted to assess the performance of growth regulating compounds for mitigating moisture stress and incidence Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) in rice. The main treatments (4) comprised free control (M1), during panicle initiation stage alone (M2), flowering (M3), both stages (M4). sub-plot (5) foliar application including chlormequat chloride at 200 ppm (S1), mepiquat (S2), brassinolide 0.1 (S3), pink pigmented facultative methylotrophs (PPFM) 1% (S4), no spray (S5). reduced plant attributes registered under stages. spraying PPFM or led better than other treatments. Also, brought down population BPH a considerable level years experiments. This suggests that post-flowering helps mitigate ill effect incidence.

Plant Responses to Simultaneous Biotic and Abiotic Stress: Molecular Mechanisms.

Plants are constantly confronted to both abiotic and biotic stresses that seriously reduce their productivity. Plant responses to these stresses are complex and involve numerous physiological, molecular, and cellular adaptations. Recent evidence shows that a combination of abiotic and biotic stress can have a positive effect on plant performance by reducing the susceptibility to biotic stress. ...

Abiotic and biotic stress combinations.

Environmental stress conditions such as drought, heat, salinity, cold, or pathogen infection can have a devastating impact on plant growth and yield under field conditions. Nevertheless, the effects of these stresses on plants are typically being studied under controlled growth conditions in the laboratory. The field environment is very different from the controlled conditions used in laborator...

9-cis-Epoxycarotenoid Dioxygenase 3 Regulates Plant Growth and Enhances Multi-Abiotic Stress Tolerance in Rice

Although abscisic acid (ABA) is an important hormone that regulates seed dormancy, stomatal closure, plant development, as well as responses to environmental stimuli, the physiological mechanisms of ABA response to multiple stress in rice remain poorly understood. In the ABA biosynthetic pathway, 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (NCED) is the key rate-limiting enzyme. Here, we report important...

Improvement of lignans production in hairy root culture of Linum mucronatum using abiotic and biotic elicitors .

Elicitors could be used as the enhancer of plant secondary-metabolite synthesis and could play an important role in biosynthetic pathways of important medicinal compounds. The present study investigated the effect of abiotic elicitor (fungal extract of Fusarium graminearum) and two abiotic elicitors (methyl jasmonate and salicylic acid) at different concentrations in 18- and 30-day-old cultures...

Comprehensive Analysis Suggests Overlapping Expression of Rice ONAC Transcription Factors in Abiotic and Biotic Stress Responses

NAC (NAM/ATAF/CUC) transcription factors comprise a large plant-specific gene family that contains more than 149 members in rice. Extensive studies have revealed that NAC transcription factors not only play important roles in plant growth and development, but also have functions in regulation of responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. However, biological functions for most of the members in t...
